“Weithaas plays with vigour and power, als well as a willingness to stop and smell the flowers along the way. Her playing is lush and sweet-toned.”

"The finest Brahms playing one could hope to hear" - "These four instruments are like a breath of fresh air on the chamber music scene.

Leipziger Streichquartett

“in Dvorak’s G major Quartet, Opus 106……It was a joy to witness the visual communication the quartet displayed with each other……if I had to single out one movement for praise, it would be the slow Adagio, in which the quartet’s glowing tone filled the entire gallery. The exciting finale was delivered with great panache. What a great start to the season.”

Piatti Quartet

"The sound quality of this disc is simply stunning: crisp, clear, almost razor-sharp in its realistic presentation of the string sound, and the equally crisp playing of Quartetto di Venezia makes it a pleasure to hear."

Quartetto di Venezia

"The Martha Müller Concert Hall in state of emergency: with the American violinist and composer Mark O’Connor, Camerata Bern celebrated a dazzling closing of its 49th season...Camerata-concertmistress Antje Weithaas has sat down with the cellist and seems to wonder, when the last time was that Bern had applauded four encores."

New to Squire Artists: Ensemble 4.1

New to Squire Artists: Ensemble 4.1Our ongoing search for unique ensembles recently brought us to Weimar, where we heard Ensemble 4.1 in a concert at the German National Theatre. Acclaimed chamber music player and pianist Thomas Hoppe and four solo wind soloists from top-class German symphony orchestras make up this ‘Piano Windtet’. Not only their outstanding musicianship, but the infectious enthusiasm, exceptionally communicative playing and passion for music demonstrated by the ensemble instantly held us enthralled.

New to Squire Artists: Antje Weithaas

New to Squire Artists: Antje WeithaasIt is with great pleasure that Squire Artists welcomes violinist Antje Weithaas to its roster of performing artists. For many years, she has been one of those rare artists who is able to transform every performance into an unforgettable event. Technical perfection, a passionate performer and driven by a desire to get through to the core of a musical score: these are the key phrases that describe a great musician, and the character traits with which Antje Weithaas enthuses her audiences.

A festival that brings Schubert back to life

A festival that brings Schubert back to life

For five full days, the spirit of Franz Schubert could be felt throughout The Hague. The Viennese composer’s chamber music was the common thread running through the Classical Now Festival. Among the festival’s highlights was the reconstruction of a musical soiree organised by Schubert in late March 1828 in memory of Beethoven. It proved to be a long, beautiful evening in the Nieuwe Kerk.

New to Squire Artists: Gioele Muglialdo & Movies in Concert

cinemia in concertoAs an eclectic and versatile musician, Gioele Muglialdo has mastered a repertoire ranging from all forms of classical music to musical, film scores, jazz and pop music. A fundamental aspect of his musical career, which in this project is a major factor, is his long-time experience in the particular technique of synchronizing music and images, without any technical equipment.
